“Closing Time” is an exercise in anticipation with regard to the limits of the critical and creative discourse, which utilizes newly instituted practices (network, devices, mediation, cultural management, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, accessibility, community, standardization, etc.) with a view to discovering the creative capability of current artistic projects and the alternative they put forward to immaterial definition, by projecting the subjective foray into these media, the type of resulting form as regards specific objectives and how is Art represented through the medium thereof.
“CT Books & Films” is a complex and large project, produced by the 15th Paris Biennale and including more than 37 authors, in which diverse technologies and media were used: video conference systems (i2bask- UPV/EHU1 virtual campus) among all three locations (Bilbao Arte –UPV/EHU- Sorbonne – Paris Biennale - and USFQ2), where the speeches by each author, bodies and groups, as well as the shootings, the creation of documents, etc., took place, along with three groups of participants. Three Web pages were generated, CT Bilbao, CT Quito and CT París, which, in turn, were linked through a network to other bodies, both physical and on-line (Brumaria, Agencia Crítica, Salón Critic, Amasté, Judo socialware, etc., up to 18 networks). The project was monitored and analysed by means of the ASOMO software, Judo Socialware, which prospects the social climate in the network thorough its tool, an abstract of whose results can be seen in the book.
The book and the DVD make up a artistic visualization object on the complexity of contemporary production and its subjective possibilities.
