Abstract:
"The salons emerged when a centralized power came to be and have to be contested in one way or another. The way was what Habermas has called public sphere. This aristocratic public sphere wanted to preserve a way of life prior to the final settlement of the Absolutist State. The virtue, what had defined the aristocracy, as strength and action in the way you deal with your own life. Life as a place with the possibility of self-management and personal decision making, as a place open to creativity and self-organization. Social relationships as places for shared investigation, places of resistance, of play, of reciprocity and equality and accessibility. In a sense the salons as modal laboratories against the main stream looked for, from the sociability as an art form, a new alternatives ways of living. Places for proposal, for action, for fighting (even if is a polite fight). (...)"
