In the heyday of sitcoms and TV series, youtube and satellite TV, when many proclaimed the death of the Latin American soap-opera, it has come back stronger than ever, with media phenomena like the Colombian Betty la Fea, the Brazilian O Clon, the Mexican RBD (Rebelde, the Nicaraguan Sexto Sentido and the U.S. Ugly Betty by Salma Hayek, que takes the genre to a new height, creating a hybrid between the series format and the sitcom.
Fea y Rebelde appears as 2 projects in youtube; the first as the story of a beautiful actress that is ugly on the inside and the second, as a soap-opera aimed at the audience of the EZLN Other Campaign. The plot of both projects is combined in a single series that may be watched separately or on its own, mixing fiction with faction (the issue of subjectivity) and factuality, as well as by different audiences such as those that are activists from sustainable communities (in the case of George), etc..
An experiment with popular keywords in the youtube sector obtained the result of winning and losing enmities from the world of the fans of figures like Shakira, Rebelde or Subcommander Marcos himself.
