In Medi Terraneum 2010 is a project that  establishes a dialogue between mediterranean and latin american artists through video art, connecting both regions and having Madrid as headquarter location. Its first Edition will be developed at the same time at all three locations on both sides of the ocean, Sicily (Italy) Madrid and Cordoba (Argentina) and will include the pieces La Plaga by both  Giosuè Mauro Cassata and Laura Navarro Gómez and La Marche de l’Escargot by Mario Damián Funes (Argentina). [live streaming]

Coordinated and curated by Federico Allocco Melani, Paula Mª Lorén Soler and Fabrizio Silvestre.

Certain phenomenons have made history of the  contemporary world. Latin America and the  Mediterranean regions were pushed into the background whereas Modernity built its own speech. But its cultural identity ,snippets made, proves that here (The Mediterranean sea and Latin America) interculturality was discovered way before than contemporaneity was taken as a sign of identity.

In Medi Terraneum is an artistic event by video art that suggests two lines of  action/investigation. The first goal is to observe the artistic reality of those countries out of the art scene worldwide, even big cities, but even so outlying cities of those countries  mentioned earlier. On to the other hand, it pretends to explore (through the works of the participant artists ) wich and how strong  is  the link between Latin America and the mediterranean countries from certain thematic axes.

For this occasion, two pieces have been choosen: La Plaga by Giosuè Mauro Cassata and Laura Navarro Gómez and La Marche de l’Escargot by argentinian artist Mario Damián Funes. According to their own experiences, they reflect on the unknown between us and the relationship with it.

These two video pieces will be combined Live on a Dj and Vj session, resulting in a third Hybrid art masterpiece, as the plasmation of a transculturated future as well as the best possibility of evolution. All this process will take place in Madrid, live streaming, connecting with all three locations in both continents.

Something is about to happen  between the lands...
