Place: Medialab-Prado · Plaza de las Letras, C/ Alameda, 15 Madrid

Labdoo tries to reduce the digital divide and the leftovers generated by the use of New Information Technologies. It would be ideal to live in a world were all the children would have the chance to learn in a intuitive way thanks to laptops and it would also be great that developing countries wouldn't become the garbage dump of our programmed obsolescence.

Labdoo is a philosophy about recycling and reusing to benefit education. A used laptop in the first world could be used by a kid in a developing country. Labdoo connects people keen to donate their laptop with developers, volunteers, civil society and associations such as Engineers without Borders and learning projects throughout the world. Labdoo is a network dedicated to reduce the impact of commons issues in both worlds and improve education in the developing world.

This presentation is part of a series of events in Medialab-Prado and CSA Tabacalera de Lavapiés entitled "Un portátil por cada humano" (One Laptop per Human). It includes a festival to collect laptops on February 25 and a videoforum about the documentary "Obsolescencia Programada" (Programmed Obsolescence) on the 26, both at CSA Tabacalera.
