The New York Times Graphics Department thinking process behind its information graphics. NYTimes had been producing data visualization before it was 'cool' to do data visualizations and has always thought of any data presentation as a vehicle to make sense of an otherwise obscure story. What are the journalistic decisions we make to find, parse, edit and visualize a data set? How do we turn millions of data points in a comprehensible 'Wow, now that makes sense!'
