Francisco Jarauta’s presentation will be based on his text Construir la ciudad genérica (Building generic cities), in which he notes that architecture, no longer a self-referential debate, should respond to new political, social and cultural contexts and to the changes brought about by world population growth, migratory flows, or large urban concentrations. The session offers a debate on the function of culture and cultural centres in the configuration of new generic and complex cities.
