"What are the necessary conditions that make it possible to freely use our artistic behaviours for production / reception? For modern cities, this use was only possible based on infrastructures, configured in technological networks which, like small wheels in a gear assembly, offered a service to citizens from a region apparently in the background. They constituted an immanent medium. However, for quite some time now those infrastructures have no longer been the standardized, universal invisible constructions that miraculously provided a homogeneous service to an individual (who would never again be identical); they have become an object to design. This condition provides new objectives for urban and artistic technical rationality: a) in its spatial dimension; b) in its organizational and functional dimension; c) in its ecological dimension; d) in its social dimension; e) in its economic dimension; f) in its communicative dimension; g) in its aesthetic dimension; h) in its ritual dimension.
- Cultural spaces = communication
- Object = context[s]
- Infrastructure = inhabitable space
- Art = “[a]bets the truth”
The infrastructure may be cultural or artistic, but in any case: there is an infrastructure"
