Medialab Prado

This presentation aims to give a general overview of what R is: its origins; its unbelievable growth (the number of available packages, dynamism, and accepting its help list); and its statistical and visualization capacities.  We’ll point out some of the most interesting libraries for data analysis and visualization from social media; data extraction from web sites; and adding data to cartographic maps. The talk will then cover various sources for help getting started in the world of R, with comments on the recent creation of the "Group for R Users in Spanish", ending with a brief demonstration of using R, with an example of analysis and visualization.
