Place: Medialab-Prado en Intermediae Matadero Madrid (Paseo de la Chopera, 14 Madrid)
Medialab-Prado organizes a series of panel discussions on draft of the Strategic Plan of Culture of the Madrid City Council 2012 - 2015 (PECAM) and the open call for the discussion of the text before the publication of its final version at the end of this year.
This first session aims to approach the text with some questions such as what is a strategic plan? What is it for? Which are the difficulties of putting it into action? And the notions of culture that it tackles? What is it that configures the cultural sphere? Which are its competences and its jurisdiction? What is its role in a context of crisis? In which sense are digital technologies and internet fostering a paradigm shift? and what are the implications for the public resources managment system?
In the following sessions we will tackle specific subjects such as cultural indicators and evaluation models, sustainability of cultural projects, or digital culture and social innovation.
Panelists in this first session are Berta Sureda, who will share her experience in different public institutions; Mar Núñez, who will reflect on the relationship between public administration and self-organized public sector; Adolfo Estalella, who will explore the impliacations of the internet and the digital culture; and Jaron Rowan, who will talk about the role of the creative industries in the construction of cultural policies.
