The terms Smart Grid has recently started to enter the everyday lexicon, but what is it, and why do we need it?
Tom's presentation will explain our current electricity generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure. He will explain just how broken it is and the significant climactic and societal benefits that will accrue from converting our current energy system to a digital system capable of intelligent two-way communication - a Smart Grid.
