Since March 2005, Raquel Herrera has been writing the blog Tempus Fugit, dedicated to regular analysis of events, publications and projects linked to digital art in general and to digital narrative in particular, while also looking for the ties (or separations) existing between the fields of digital art and contemporary art.
Raquel Herrera will present her art criticism blog project, alluding to the editorial context in which it was originated, to the expressive possibilities of the format and its characteristic traits; i.e., the differential approach compared to other artistic mediation professions that communicate through writing; the use of a particular subjectivity that seeks to generate a legitimate opinion without resorting to the confessional model, and the thematic treatment that seeks to lay out reflexive bridges between creative fields that are apparently separated such as the model of virtual festivals and exhibitions and that of museums and galleries. The presentation will draw on examples from the blog at all times and there will be an explanation of its various tags or classifications to show the formal structure and the variety of themes dealt with.
In the conclusions, she will speculate on the possibilities for developing the blog as an alternative medium for theoretical reflection and raise proposals for its acknowledgement as professional writing.
