Lecture by Adam Greenfield within the context of the Seminar of VISUALIZAR'08: DATABASE CITY (November 3- 18, 2008). This lecture is also part of the Light, space and perception work group.

Most visions of the networked city begin and end with technological capabilities, rather than being founded in any particularly rich understanding of human experience or desire. By contrast, more sensitive design would require accounting for what actually happens to our perceptions of metropolitan space and time under the condition of networked informatics - and that's just what this presentation examines.
