Medialab-Prado presents the project Waves to Waves to Waves by Chris Sugrue and Damian Stewart during the celebration of La Noche en Blanco 2009.
In this work, the digital translation of detected waves is connected to an imaginary realm where electromagnetic fields are a perceptible phenomena that create a visible and audible impact.

Waves to Waves to Waves introduces a fictional world where electromagnetic signals disrupt and deform an organic virtual environment. Modern technologies -- wifi, mobile phones, radio, and television -- all create electromagnetic waves. Although these exist beyond the reach of the human senses, devices sensitive to changes in such fields, can detect their signals. In this work, the digital translation of detected waves is connected to an imaginary realm where electromagnetic fields are a perceptible phenomena that create a visible and audible impact.
This project was produced with the support of Medialab-Prado. Credits: Servando Barreiro, Carla Capeto, Mariana Carranza, María José Alós Esperón and Sergio Manuel Galán Nieto.
