Fernando Carbajo Cascón

Holds a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Salamanca and is a Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Salamanca and substitute judge of the Salamanca Provincial Court. His teaching and research activity has been focused in the field of business law, where he has published, among others, his doctoral thesis on sole proprietorships (Aranzadi, 2002) which won an award from the University of Salamanca. He is also an expert in industrial and intellectual property law, having paid special attention to the influence of new information and electronic commerce technologies on this field and he is the author of the first monographic work in Spanish on Internet domain names (1st edition, Aranzadi, 1999; 2nd edition, Aranzadi, 2002), a monographic work on electronic publications and intellectual property (Colex, 2002) and different works on intellectual property rights on the Internet, digital signatures and other aspects of electronic trade. At the University of Salamanca, he is part of the doctoral studies faculty that focuses on the legal and economic aspects of corruption and part of a research team on guarantees and means of payment in international contracts.
