In 2006, María de Marías and Andrew Colquhoun founded Laboratorio Live Media (Association for Networked Arts and Cultures), an interdisciplinary platform for communication and cooperation in the fields of culture and the Internet. Its objectives include the promotion of links between online and offline technologies, between actual and virtual spaces, for the creation of live, mediatised environments” that are smart, simultaneous and which work on a joint basis".
The first LIVEMEDIA 2007 programme will be started in August, from the Casa de la Primera Imprenta de América (House of the First Publisher in America) in Mexico DF, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Autonomous University of Mexico and Ars Numerica, France. From the second fortnight of October onwards, the programme will continue from the Sitges Centre de Disseny, the new headquarters of Laboratorio Live Media in Barcelona.
