Lourdes Cilleruelo (Bilbao, 1969). Researcher, professor and curator, since 1992, her work has focused on the repercussion of new technologies on art. She has won several research scholarships and is the author of various articles on cyber culture and in particular, net.art. Some of her most important publications are the books Net.art: Prácticas estéticas y políticas en la Red (Net.art: Aesthetic and political practices in the Network) (Brumaria, 2006), co-authored by Laura Baigorri, and Arte de Internet: génesis y definición de un nuevo soporte artístico, 1995-2000 (The Art of the Internet: genesis and definition of a new artistic medium, 1995 – 2000) (UPV/EHU, 2001) and the article Manual de referencia para el artista de Internet (Reference manual for the Internet artist) (Aleph, 2001). She has been a member of various scientific juries and committees and has organised the seminars Arte y tecnología (Art and Technology) (UPV/EHU). She recently enjoyed a post doctorate scholarship to carry out the project “Nuevas formas artísticas de producción y distribución audiovisual en Internet” (New artistic forms of audiovisual production and distribution in Internet). She is currently working on Dariola, along with Mariano Maturana; a blog that studies the Internet as an audiovisual medium and offers a platform for the exchange of resources and tools among artists.
