MADD (Madrid Art Du Deplacement)
The MADD (Madrid Art Du Deplacement) collective arose with the aim of promoting, training and developing the Art du deplacement (ADD, or Parkour) and its value in the city of Madrid.
In ancient times, human beings moved freely throughout their environment, able to combine the resources at hand and their own abilities in a generative way. At present, we have lost part of that ability to adapt. We are supposed to take only a certain set of established paths, and use certain objects for only one purpose. ADD, or Parkour, involves working with the imagination, finding alternative uses for things designed for other purposes, reorganizing one’s experience of the city and all its components.
The ADD or Parkour community usually makes videos of its activities that are posted on the Web. This way, traceurs in different cities can share their experiences, while updating and keeping the Parkour practice and community alive around the world.
