Pablo Sánchez León is a researcher trained as a historian and committed to the democratization of knowledge about the past and to building a dialogue between professional historians and other producers of historical narratives from civil society. He has widely researched on social and political conflicts and on the historical culture of the Spanish public  in different periods. His work is devoted to establishing the study of the past over sounder theoretical and methodological bases, more sensitive to epistemological pluralism. He is the co-author of the book La guerra que nos han contado. 1936 y nosotros [The war we were told. 1936 and ourselves] (Madrid, Alianza, 2006) and coeditor of El fin de los historiadores. Pensar históricamente en el siglo XXI [The end of historians. Thinking historically in the 21st century] (Madrid, Siglo XXI, 2008). He is also a founding member of the Asociación Contratiempo (historia y memoria), which works in the interface between historical research and civic empowerment.
