Ricard Marxer Piñón

1981, is studying for his doctorate in Music and Neurocomputing at the Music Technology Group at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona. His academic background combines science and art: he is a Telecommunication Engineer and has a Master’s Degree in Digital Art. He has studied philosophy and logic as well as seven years of saxophone and music theory. He has lived in several countries including Spain, France, the United States, and Australia, which has stimulated his great interest in the field of language and typography.

His artwork explores the worlds of generative arts and computing aesthetics. Caligraft (2006) is a generative art work which consists of a series of interactive pieces exploring the limits of representation in typographies and texts. It has been shown at several festivals and conferences, including OFFF 2006 (Barcelona) and SIGGRAPH 2006 Art Gallery (Boston).
