Rubén Martínez is a co-founder of Yproductions, the cultural production company. All the projects we carry out from YP can be understood as both production and research processes. We consider culture to be a knowledge production space, and therefore, YP is presented as a platform that carries out research on culture in doing cultural work. Currently, we are involved in research projects on “new economies of culture”, which analyze the prevailing models that see cultural practices and worth from a Neo-Liberal standpoint in contrast to emergent forms of conceiving the economy and practice of culture. All the projects, field work, and research in its entirety is available at http://www.ypsite.net. We published the book titled PRODUCTA50 on the economy of culture and metropolis. Soon to be released is “innovación en cultura” (“innovations in culture”) by Traficantes de Sueños publishers. We also offer educational services, consulting and advisory services in the public and private sectors and we have been in charge of the project HAMACA, media & video art distribution from Spain http://www.hamacaonline.net, since it began in March 2007.
