Susa Pop

Susa Pop is managing director of Public Art Lab which she founded as an interdisciplinary action research platform in 2002. As cultural operator and curator, she is very much interested in creative community building through networking urban art projects that take advantage of the situatedness in the public space and catalyse artistic processes and public awareness in temporarily possessed urban settings - while utilising the new possibilities of digital media tools.

Susa Pop realised several nomadic art projects like Mobile Museums, a travelling artists museum in 2004 or Mobile Studios, a multimedia production laboratory.

Since 2007 she is collaborating with Mirjam Struppek in the field of urban screens and media facades. In 2008 they launched the Media Facades Festival Berlin to explore the cultural potential of commercially used urban screens through especially produced artists projects. The networking dimension for regions and cities as a local stage and global window will be investigated with the upcoming Media Facades Festival Europe 2010.
