Femke Snelting from Constant (Brussels) presents Libre Graphic Research Unit (LGRU), a cross-disciplinary project that involves artists, designers and programmers to reflect and create free graphic design tools. 

An introduction to some free software programs for designers such as Scribus, Inkscape and Gimp by graphic design students Laura Calderón, María Hojas and Jorge Barahona will follow.

Screenings of short films about political empowerments that (re)situate different claims for citizen emancipation in public opinion: Argentina in 2001, the Arab Spring, the Indignados of 15M, Greek resistance, demonstrations in London, student revolts in Chile and indigenous movements in Latin America (from Chiapas to the Patagonia), among other social manifestations that have occurred over the past decade. 

The fifth data journalism session will be devoted to analyzing the real situation of data journalism in Spain's media. To do so, first there will be a panel moderated by Antonio Delgado to analyze the treatment given to the 2012 budget visualization in various media. Secondly, there will be a roundtable moderated by Mario Tascón, where representatives from various media will explain what they are doing currently.

New session of #redada, a debate on social trends and aspects related to culture, civil rights and technology.

This session is devoted to discussions on smart cities, the future of cities and how infrastructures and urban planning impact citizens' ways of life. Don't miss it if you are interested in what intelligent cities will be like, and the challenges and opportunities they will offer.
